What is Effective Rainfall?

Effective Rainfall is the portion of total rainfall that is actually available for crop use. Losses occur due to runoff, deep percolation, and evaporation.

Standard Formula

Effective Rainfall (mm) = Total Rainfall − Losses

Where losses include runoff, evaporation, and percolation beyond the root zone.
